Functional Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the branch of medicine concerning the glands and their hormones. Traditional endocrinology identifies organs that are deficient or non-functioning. This is then corrected with pharmaceutical agents or hormones to replace, suppress, or support the dysfunction.

Functional endocrinology identifies alterations in the endocrine system that are not in a disease state, but in a functioning state that if left untreated could result into a disease. Functional endocrinology involves understanding and supporting a complex series of vicious cycles that feed each other. Identifying and correcting functional inconsistency before they become a chronic, or serious diseased state.
